Vivace

Vivace

OASES

With enthusiasm!

It starts with a Madison, a lively little line dance that’s a star on the dance floor.
But Vivace then surprises us: set to pop, baroque, and electro music with consistently lively rhythms, the choreography unfolds in an astonishing musical and gestural journey. It should be noted that Vivace is the word used in music to describe a rapid pulse (also referred to as “lively”). It is also used to name plants that are constantly striving to survive…
Overwhelmed by rhythm and momentum, the dancers become the living bodies of a new species, full of vitality, determination, and persistence.

Nathalie Yokel, July 2018

OASES commissions and produces dance pieces that can be performed anywhere, reaching out to residents in a wide variety of areas. These pieces reflect our desire to bring dance to spaces and areas that are not usually associated with choreography. With an extraordinary variety of expressions, they are all-terrain and designed to take over village halls and squares as well as historic monuments, parks, and tourist sites. With the powerful idea that by leaving its reserved spaces, contemporary dance will reach out to the population.
